
Athanasios N. Papathanasiou
Athanasios N. Papathanasiou is an Orthodox lay theologian and lives in Athens, Greece, with his wife Eleni Tamaresi and their son Alexandros-Arethas.
He holds a doctorate in missiology (1991) and degrees in theology (1986) and law (1982). He teaches at the post-graduate programme of the Hellenic Open University as well as at a secondary school. Since 1998 he has been editor-in-chief of the Greek theological quarterly Synaxi (http://www.synaxi.gr/) and since 2007 a member of the Advisory Board of the International Journal of Orthodox Theology (http://www.orthodox-theology.com/). He is also member of The European Society for Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies (ESITIS). His research as well as his participation in international conferences is focused on cross-cultural theology and Christian witness in the globalized, pluralistic and postmodern world.
